After working at my job for 16 years, I was laid off. I was out of work for almost 1 year and during this time I searched for a job that i truly loved to do. I found taxidermy. While I am now back to work full time running a data center, I work daily in my shop at home. I am working to grow my client base at this time and hope to one day make taxidermy my full time career.
I worked under a person at a local shop for 6 months mounting deer, hog and other mammals. During this time I was never paid a dime and did it simply for the chance to learn. I spent some of my time and money to be trained on birds and have not looked back since. I spent almost 4 years perfecting the art on my personal animals before ever thinking about doing work for others. I wanted to ensure that I produced a quality product and a beautiful replication of life.
